Mahaiwe Announces Lucinda Williams and Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy Virtual Events

Singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.—The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center has added virtual programs from singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams and the Celtic music duo Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, this fall and winter.

Both Williams and the MacMaster-Leahy duo are Mahaiwe alums, having performed on the Great Barrington stage in 2015 and 2017, respectively.

“Lucinda Williams speaks to so many audiences because she can range effortlessly among rock, folk, blues, or country music, with a voice that always takes you straight to the emotional heart of a song. In this series, you can take your pick of her musically astute playlist selections,” says Executive Director Janis Martinson. “Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, on the other hand, promise something very specific – their family blend of Cape Breton Celtic fiddle music and step-dance, with enough energy and joy to launch the holiday season with heart.”

American rock, folk, and country artist Lucinda Williams is performing a series of virtual concerts titled Lu’s Jukebox. The series of mostly full-band, in-studio performances will feature a themed set of songs, curated by the multi-Grammy award-winner. As a bonus, she’ll introduce an occasional rarity or new song that fits each episode’s theme. The series partially benefits participating independent venues like the Mahaiwe.

Five unique sets will stream through November and December, Thursdays at 8 p.m.: “Bob’s Back Pages: A Night of Bob Dylan Songs,” on November 19; “Funny How Time Slips Away: A Night of ‘60s Country Classics” on December 3; “Have Yourself a Rockin’ Little Christmas with Lucinda” on December 17; and “It’s Only Rock and Roll: A Tribute to the Rolling Stones,” on December 31. Tickets are $20 for each show at

The Mahaiwe will participate in A Celtic Family Christmas at Home — a virtual holiday program by Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy’s musical family performance group, launching Saturday, December 12 at 8 p.m., and available through the end of the year. Mostly music, the show will also include candid moments around the kitchen, decorating the tree, and other bits of holiday cheer. Tickets are $25 at
