Introducing Local Characters —

I honor of Mother’s Day, this is the first in a quartet of five-minute interviews with local residents talking about their mothers, being a mother and more.

In this debut, Ancram resident B. Docktor shares the adventure of moving her 99-year-old mother out of her senior housing due to the COVID-19 crisis and bringing her to Ancram.

A new interview will be released each Friday at 1 p.m. for the rest of May. These segments are a teaser for an evening edition of Local Characters featuring freewheeling conversations with fascinating residents in front of a live — and, in the case of this year, virtual — audience on July 25.

UPCOMING: Ancram Opera House and The Olana Partnership are pleased to announce that its upcoming playwriting course for adults 55-plus will be offered online as a distance learning opportunity. The workshop begins May 21. A few spots are still available!
