HUDSON — Hudson Area Library and the City of Hudson Senior Center are offering a 5-week session of Creative Writing with Maureen McNeil, on Thursdays 2:30 - 3:30pm, from July 9 until August 6. This special summer session allows participants to respond through writing to the current events of the pandemic, and the racial justice movement flourishing in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, and other topics central in their lives. This class will take place virtually. Students will receive an e-newsletter with writing prompts and Maureen will host a virtual meeting through Zoom video conferencing services at regular class times.

Maureen McNeil, author, artist, educator, and social activist, has created writing programs for NYC public school students, US prisoners, seniors, veterans, and families of 9/11 victims. She believes that everyone’s story is needed to help solve the problems of the world. Maureen is also the author of Dear Red: The Lost Diary of Marilyn Monroe and Red Hook Stories.

The class is free and open to the public of all ages. Registration is limited to 9 participants, and is on a first come/first serve basis.
