Join Cultivate Catskill’s Meg Nowack and Greene County Historian, Jonathan Palmer, for a guided walking tour of Liberty, York and Broad Streets between King and Greene Streets. Learn about elements of style spanning from Federal townhouses to Sears Bungalows during this informative tour of some of the most interesting streets in the Village of Catskill. The neighborhood contains a wide variety of architectural styles, interesting outbuildings and gardens, in addition to being the former home of many important Catskill families. The tour will examine the architectural styles of over 25 houses and five gardens. Houses featured will be described in detail including the homes of the influential Beach family, “Mother Maggie”, Catskill’s own evangelist, U.S. Congressman Rufus King and Dr. A. Cooke Hull, a prominent physician and philanthropist
