Bees Knees Café at Heather Ridge Farm re-opens for Mother’s Day weekend

PRESTON HOLLOW — After a long, cold, lonely Covid winter, The Bees Knees Café at Heather Ridge Farm will re-open with outdoor seating and take-out, starting Saturday May 8. The café and farm store will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm, and there will be many special food events as well throughout the summer. Wear your mask and keep a llama’s distance between folks! There is plentiful outdoor seating, with mountain views.

Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9, coincides with first monthly Second Sunday Session of the season. Enjoy live traditional Irish music, led by fiddlers Hilary Schrauf and Bernie Neumann with friends, starting around noon. There is no cover, but tipping is encouraged. A special Mother’s Day menu will be offered both Saturday and Sunday, with innovative dishes from chef Rob Handel.

The monthly Fried Chicken Picnic Suppers resume for the season, Saturday, May 29. The event starts at 5pm and ends at 7, with fresh chicken being fried continuously. The meal of gluten-free fried chicken, with plentiful sides, and dessert is $29 plus tax. Reservations are a must! See our website to sign up through Eventbrite. Heather Ridge Farm’s fried chicken was honored as one of the best in the region by Capital Life magazine.

The Bees Knees Café at Heather Ridge Farm is located at 989 Broome Center Road, Preston Hollow, NY. Menus and a calendar of events are updated weekly on its website at www.heather-ridge-farm.com
