Annual Blue Plate Restaurant Benefit for Chatham Animal Haven Saturday January 11, 2020 at 5 p.m.

CHATHAM — Chatham Animal Haven (CAH), a nonprofit farm animal sanctuary in Chatham, NY now in its 5th year of operation, is holding their annual fundraiser on January 11, 2020 at the Blue Plate Restaurant, 1 Kinderhook St., Chatham, NY. Founders Colleen Carpenter and Marcia Cary started the sanctuary with the arrival of one farm piglet and since then, the Haven has welcomed five more pigs, six goats, 2 sheep, a very vociferous duck and many chickens. Most recently they took in a pot-bellied pig and 11 bantam chickens, 9 of which are roosters, who did not have appropriate shelter and surely would have suffered in the last storm and cold weather. All have their own rescue stories ranging from a local family no longer able to keep and provide for a goat, who thought their only option was to euthanize him, to a 500lb Berkshire pig named Oscar, who escaped from a farm in western NY and was hunted for two months until he found his way to a wildlife rehabilitator who then found the Haven online and arrange for his transfer there.

The event features an awesome buffet dinner, live music, dancing, silent auction and great company! Musical lineup includes Abby Lappen, Marty McDermott and Steve Collins, the Green’s Blues Band and Sideshow Willie!

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased as the door. Advance Tickets can also be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com. For more information, email chathamanimalhaven@gmail.com or call 518.528.3714.
