Senior Menu

CATSKILL — The following is the weekly nutrition menu offered by the Greene County Department of Human Services’ Senior Nutrition Program. Served daily with each meal are bread or alternative with Promise Spread; low fat milk, coffee or tea.

All persons 60 and older and their spouses are invited. The suggested donation for each meal is $4.

The menu will be the meal that is delivered to all Greene County home bound meal clients. Those wishing to receive lunch at a center are asked to call the respective location at least a day in advance.

For the foreseeable future, there will be no congregate meals at any of the Greene County Nutrition Centers, including Jewett. Home delivered meals will still be delivered, and if you want a meal, you can order the day ahead and pick it up at the center to take out.

Oct. 14 through Oct. 21

WEDNESDAY: Barbecue chicken thighs, pasta salad, corn, California mixed vegetables, pineapple chunks.

THURSDAY: Roast beef with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and pearl onions, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Baked ziti, fresh salad with white kidney beans, Italian mixed vegetables, cantaloupe.

MONDAY: American goulash, green beans, fruit cocktail.

TUESDAY: Chef’s choice, cauliflower, vanilla mousse.

WEDNESDAY: Baked chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, spinach puff, birthday cupcake.

Oct. 21 through Oct. 28

WEDNESDAY: Baked chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, spinach puff, birthday cupcake.

THURSDAY: Ham and cheddar quiche, hash browns, peas and carrots, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Vegetable lasagna, fresh salad with red kidney beans, Italian green beans, fresh fruit.

MONDAY: Chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, carrots, pineapple chunks.

TUESDAY: Sloppy Joes, cauliflower, sweet potato, butterscotch pudding, box of raisins.

WEDNESDAY: Roast pork loin with gravy, applesauce, mashed potatoes, broccoli, pears.

Oct. 28 through Nov. 4

WEDNESDAY: Roast pork loin with gravy, applesauce, mashed potatoes, broccoli, pears.

THURSDAY: Crab topped cod, brown rice pilaf, spinach, apple crisp with oatmeal topping.

FRIDAY: Stuffed shells with sausage, Italian mixed vegetables, fresh salad with chick peas, fresh fruit.

MONDAY: Chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, winter squash, pears.

TUESDAY: Closed.

WEDNESDAY: Macaroni and cheese, 3 bean salad, stewed tomatoes, fruit cocktail.

Nov. 4 through Nov. 11

WEDNESDAY: Macaroni and cheese, 3 bean salad, stewed tomatoes, fruit cocktail.

THURSDAY: Sweet and sour chicken, brown rice, broccoli, mandarin oranges and pineapple.

FRIDAY: Beef burgundy, whole wheat buttered noodles, fresh salad, cauliflower, carrot coins, spice cake with raisins.

MONDAY: Baked lemon fish, brown rice pilaf, broccoli, chocolate mousse.

TUESDAY: Meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, pears.

WEDNESDAY: Closed.

Nov. 11 through Nov. 18

WEDNESDAY: Closed.

THURSDAY: Chicken Parmesan, pasta, green salad, Italian mixed vegetables, vanilla cupcake.

FRIDAY: Apple glazed pork chop, applesauce, braised cabbage, sweet potato, fresh fruit.

MONDAY: Chicken Divan, brown rice, peas and carrots, peaches.

TUESDAY: Hungarian goulash over noodles, corn, brussels sprouts, rice pudding with raisins.

WEDNESDAY: Roast pork with apple cider gravy, green and waxed beans, mashed potatoes, applesauce, cookies.

Nov. 18 through Nov. 25

WEDNESDAY: Roast pork with apple cider gravy, green and waxed beans, mashed potatoes, applesauce, cookies.

THURSDAY: Vegetable lasagna with white sauce, green salad, Italian mixed vegetables, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Battered fish, cole slaw, roasted red potatoes, carrots, brownie.

MONDAY: Sloppy Joes, green beans, broccoli, fruit cocktail.

TUESDAY: Baked salmon with dill sauce, mashed potatoes, spinach, banana pudding with side of fruit.

WEDNESDAY: Roast turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, dressing, pumpkin pie.

Nov. 25 through Dec. 2

WEDNESDAY: Roast turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, dressing, pumpkin pie.

THURSDAY: Closed.

FRIDAY: Beef patty with onion gravy, Harvard beets, boiled potato, fresh fruit.

MONDAY: Baked ziti with ground meat, Italian beans, cauliflower, tropical fruit.
