Senior Menu

CATSKILL — The following is the weekly nutrition menu offered by the Greene County Department of Human Services’ Senior Nutrition Program. Served daily with each meal are bread or alternative with Promise Spread; low fat milk, coffee or tea.

All persons 60 and older and their spouses are invited. The suggested donation for each meal is $4.

The menu will be the meal that is delivered to all Greene County home bound meal clients. Those wishing to receive lunch at a center are asked to call the respective location at least a day in advance.

For the foreseeable future, there will be no congregate meals at any of the Greene County Nutrition Centers, including Jewett. Home delivered meals will still be delivered, and if you want a meal, you can order the day ahead and pick it up at the center to take out.

Feb. 24 through March 3

WEDNESDAY: Roast pork with gravy, Parisian mixed vegetables, sweet potatoes, applesauce spice cake with raisins.

THURSDAY: Lasagna with meat sauce, Italian green beans, cauliflower, butterscotch pudding with granola topping.

FRIDAY: Macaroni and cheese, 3 bean salad, stewed tomatoes, fresh fruit.

MONDAY: Barbecue chicken thighs, sweet potato mash, broccoli, applesauce.

TUESDAY: Pork chop with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, peaches.

WEDNESDAY: Spaghetti and meatballs, Italian mixed vegetables, diced pears with cookie.

March 3 through March 10

WEDNESDAY: Spaghetti and meatballs, Italian mixed vegetables, diced pears with cookie.

THURSDAY: Hot roast beef with gravy, baked potato, roasted carrots, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Lemon tarragon fish, brown rice, asparagus, mixed berries with whipped topping.

MONDAY: Chicken divan, brown rice, carrots, tropical fruit.

TUESDAY: Stuffed shells marinara, spinach, chocolate mousse with mixed berries.

WEDNESDAY: Barbecue pulled pork, baked beans, green beans, fruited gelatin.

March 10 through March 17

WEDNESDAY: Barbecue pulled pork, baked beans, green beans, fruited gelatin.

THURSDAY: Hungarian goulash, egg noodles, Italian vegetables, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Fish Florentine, herb roast potato wedges, zucchini and tomatoes, strawberries with angel food cake and whipped topping.

MONDAY: Roast chicken quarter with gravy, mashed potatoes, meadow mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges.

TUESDAY: Pork chops with gravy, winter squash, scalloped potatoes, tropical fruit.

WEDNESDAY: Corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes, carrots, cupcake with green icing.

March 17 through March 24

WEDNESDAY: Corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes, carrots, cupcake with green icing.

THURSDAY: Eggplant Parmesan, pasta, tossed salad, Italian mixed vegetables, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Shrimp primavera, rotini, Monaco mixed vegetables, fresh fruit.

MONDAY: Tortellini with sausage, Italian mixed vegetables, vanilla pudding with granola topping.

TUESDAY: Sweet and sour chicken, white rice, Oriental mixed vegetables, pineapple.

WEDNESDAY: Roast turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, carrots, stuffing, oatmeal raisin cookie.

March 24 through March 31

WEDNESDAY: Roast turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, carrots, stuffing, oatmeal raisin cookie.

THURSDAY: Meatloaf, baked potato, broccoli, fresh fruit.

FRIDAY: Battered fish, old bay oven fries, fresh salad, peaches, yogurt parfait with peaches.

MONDAY: Beef chili, rice, mixed vegetables, peaches.

TUESDAY: Salmon with dill sauce, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, brownie.

WEDNESDAY: Chicken Parmesan, whole wheat spaghetti, spinach, green beans, tiramisu.
