Claverack Seniors

CLAVERACK — The Claverack Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Claverack Library. The refreshment committee is Norma Barnard, Jean Keyser, Barbara Dellamater and Cheryl Halleran.

The following committee chairmen have been appointed for 2020: Sunshine, Norma Barnard; Membership, Alberta Cox; Trips, Debbie Grau; 50/50, Mary Jane Finkle; Programs, Ellie Esselstyn and Alberta Cox; and Publicity, oyce Pratt. Vanessa Matteis will serve as trip treasurer.

A program on Home and Personal Safety will be presented by a representative from the Sheriff’s Department.

All are welcome to attend the first trip of the year April 21, Encore Casino, Boston, Mass., $10. Non-members pay an additional $10 for trips. Pickups will be make at the former Town Highway Garage on Route 217 and at the ABShaw Firehouse on Route 23. Payment is due a month before trip date. Meeting

GREENPORT — The Greenport branch of the Columbia Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Greenport Town Hall, 600 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. The group will discuss planned activities for the coming year.

Driver Education

RENSSELAER — A defensive driving class will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Rensselaer County, 544 Broadway, Rensselaer. The fee is $35. Registration is required and can be made by calling Raymond Frankoski at 518-286-3788. Class size is limited.

Tax Prep Assistance

COPAKE — Roeliff Jansen Community Library will be hosting a tax prep assistance session, led by the AARP and IRS, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 25 at the library, 9091 Route 22, Copake. Volunteers from the AARP, in conjunction with the IRS, will help residents prepare their tax returns, including social security, pensions, W2s, interest, dividends, simple capital gains, and itemized deductions. A second tax prep session is scheduled for March 11. This program is geared towards low- and moderate-income taxpayers. Participants must sign up at the library ahead of time. Volunteers will be in contact with participants in order to set up an appointment. For information, call 518-325-4101.

Red Hook Chapter 2381 AARP

RED HOOK — The Red Hook Chapter 2381 AARP meets the second Wednesday of the month at the Red Hook Community Center, 59 Fisk St., Red Hook. Social hour at 10:30 a.m.; business meeting 11:30 a.m.; speaker/program at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome. Day trips and longer trips are organized. Reasonable yearly dues charged to members. Lebanon Valley Senior Citizens

NEW LEBANON — The Lebanon Valley Senior Citizens club meets the first and third Friday of every month at the New Lebanon Town Hall, 14755 Route 22, New Lebanon. Annual fee is $10 (free to those over 80). Activities include trips, holiday lunches at local restaurants, a barbecue and covered dish events, bingo and more. Open to all 55 and older.

Hudson Senior Center

HUDSON — The Hudson Senior Center meets at the Hudson Area Library, second floor, 51 North Fifth St., Hudson. For information, call 518-828-3200. Lunch is served at noon Monday through Friday.

MGM Springfield Trip

STUYVESANT — The Stuyvesant/Stockport Seniors are hosting a trip to the MGM Casino in Springfield, Mass. on March 11. Cost is $30 with $20 bonus free play and a $20 food voucher. Chair Yoga
