WALDEN — Morgan Duke Conservation Society signed a Volunteer Stewardship Agreement with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on Jan. 26, 2021, to aid the preservation and maintenance of Colgate Lake Wild Forest in Jewett in Greene County.

Volunteers can help pick up garbage throughout the area, including at the campsites, alongside the road and trails. There are no set amount of hours that volunteers have to work, no set schedules, and no minimum amount of time to volunteer. There are no application fees; donations are always appreciated.Volunteers can sign up anytime at signup.morgandukecs.ngo.
