Hollowville Bridge replacement work to begin

CLAVERACK - Contractors working for the Columbia County Department of Public Works will begin the construction work for the replacement of the Hollowville Bridge, carrying Columbia County Route 16 over the Hollowville Creek in the Town of Claverack April 6. Hollowville Bridge is located east of the center of the Hollowville Hamlet.

County Route 16 will close at the bridge site just prior to the start of the bridge replacement work and County Route 16 traffic will be directed to use a temporary, off-site detour that will be signed/posted by the County’s project contractors. The bridge replacement work at Hollowville Bridge is expected to take approximately 4 months to complete.

The project’s off-site detour will traverse sections of Columbia County Route 16 and NYS Route 23 in the Town of Claverack.
