EAST GREENBUSH — Amateur Radio operators from all over the Capital District will converge on the East Greenbush Town Park for Hamfest 2021 beginning at 8 a.m. Aug. 21. The annual event is held by the East Greenbush Amateur Radio Association (EGARA) and offers “hams” the opportunity to sell and buy Amateur Radio equipment and supplies, as well as the chance to spend the day with others who enjoy participating in the hobby.

Due to continuing growth of the event, this year’s Hamfest has been moved to larger quarters at the East Greenbush Town Park. In addition to ample parking and more space for the swapfest, the park also offers a new climate controlled enclosed building. Breakfast and lunch items will also be available.

Admission to the Hamfest is $7 and includes free parking and an entry for prize giveaways.

Information and directions can be found on the EGARA website at www.EGARA.club.

Money raised by the event is used by EGARA to support its non-profit education and public service activities, including emergency communications during severe weather events.
