GERMANTOWN — The Germantown Central School District announces Brittani Dauley as its Valedictorian and Riley Gibbons as its Salutatorian for the Class of 2021.
Graduation will be held at 9:30 a.m. June 26 in Palatine Park. There can be up to 500 in attendance, excluding the number of graduates.
Brittani Dauley has earned the distinction of Valedictorian for the Germantown High School Class of 2021 with a grade point average of 97.02. Brittani is the recipient of a number of scholarships including the Gidding’s Scholarship.
She is on the High Honor Roll (2018-2021), was a member of National Junior Honor Society (2017-2019) and is a current member of National Honor Society (2020-2021). Brittani participated in Odyssey of the Mind (2019) and placed third in competition. She has played on the Modified Soccer Team (2018-2019), the Modified Softball Team (2018-2019), the Varsity Cheerleading Squad (2018-2019) and the Varsity Softball Team (2020-2021).
She has volunteered at the Town Library (2018-2019) for several children’s events, community gardening events (2018), Astor Services for Children & Families (2020-2021) doing virtual readings, creating PPE kits and delivering COVID-19 relief packages to families in need. Brittani established a scholarship in memory of her late father Robert Dauley. The Robert Dauley Memorial Scholarship is intended to be dispersed to a Germantown Central School District graduating senior each year who has struggled due to the loss of a loved one.
She will graduate with college credits from Columbia-Greene Community College. She will continue her education at SUNY Cortland in the fall with a major in biology. Brittani plans to follow a Pre-Med track and hopes to become either a neurologist or an oncologist.
Riley Gibbons has earned the distinction of Salutatorian for the Germantown High School Class of 2021 with a grade point average of 96.27.
Riley is a recipient of the Gidding’s Scholarship and the SUNY New Paltz Orange and Blue Scholarship. She was also awarded the Gellert Cornell Admissions Invitation, Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement and Social Conscience, Albany City Lodge Knights of Pythias Achievement Award, The Clarkson School Scholars Award, RIT Innovation & Creativity Award and the Rensselaer Medal.
Riley is on the High Honor Roll (2017-2021) and is a member of National Honor Society (2019-2021), serving as president her senior year. She has also served as the Class of 2021 president (2017-2021).
She has played on the Varsity Soccer Team and has served as the team’s captain (2017-2021). She has earned the distinction of both Team MVP and CHVL 1st Team All Star (2017-2020). Riley has also participated in Club Soccer (2017-2021). She has played on the Varsity Basketball Team (2017-2020) and has earned the distinction of Team MVP (2018-2020), CHVL 1st Team All Star (2018-2020), CHVL Co-MVP (2019-2020) and All State Honorable Mention (2019-2020).
Riley has played the snare drum in the New York State School Music Association and earned the highest solo level, All State (2017-2020), All County Chorus (2017-2019), All County Band - Percussion (2017-2020), Area All State Band - Percussion (2019-2020), Jazz Band - Drum Set (2017-2020), A Capella (2017-2020), New York State Band Directors Association Honor Band - Percussion (2020-2021) and has sporadically participated in Drama Club throughout her high school career.
She has volunteered on the TMI Project Fundraising Committee (2019-2021) and later interned for the local nonprofit that seeks to mobilize social change through true storytelling (2020-2021).
She will graduate with college credits in Pre-Calculus and Calculus from Columbia-Greene Community College. She will continue her education at SUNY New Paltz in the fall with an undecided major.
