Germantown Garden Club welcomes new members

Contributed photoThe Germantown Garden Club recently held its first meeting in 18 months. The club was able to accomplish safely a number of scheduled activities during 2020 however. The club’s field trip to the Churchtown Dairy, visiting only the outside gardens, created floral decorations for the Germantown High School Commencement Ceremonies, awarded a $500 scholarship to a Germantown graduating senior, held a virtual flower show and judged the Adorn-A-Door Competition at the senior residence in Germantown, Palatine Manor. During this time the club received the following from the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State; Club Recognition Award, World Gardening Citation, Honorable Mention for 2019 Standard Flower Show, First Place for 2019 Standard Flower Show Schedule, First Place for 2019 Year Book, First Place for the 2019 Press Book, and from the Central Atlantic Region a First Place for the 2019 Press Book. As the year progresses the club will once again have a monthly meeting. For information about the Club call President Fran Bufi at 518-537-4868.
