Germantown Garden Club announces flower show award winners

GERMANTOWN — The Germantown Garden Club has held a type of flower show for more than 90 years. Despite the pandemic the club was able to hold an in-person show for 2021. All safety protocols were followed. The theme for this year’s standard flower show was “The Flower Power of Gardening.”

A standard flower show consists of a Design Division with 6 design classes, a Horticulture Division, Division III two Educational Exhibits and Division IV Botanical Arts, Photography. This year there were 99 entries in the Horticulture Division. The show is judged by 6 Accredited Flower Show Judges.

The top winners in the Design Division were; Andrea DiPace, Design Excellence, Tri-Color Award and Sweepstakes Award; Mimi Brauch, Designer’s Choice Award. The top winners in the Horticulture Division were; Triona Fritsch, Horticulture Excellence Award and 2 Awards of Merit; Mimi Brauch, Grower’s Choice Award and an Award of Merit, Sweepstakes Award; and Irene Clum, Arboreal Award. Mattie Gifford and Ann Bloom each won an Award of Merit.
