GCS hires new business manager

Deana Bizzarro

GERMANTOWN — The Germantown Central School District Board of Education appointed Deana Bizzarro as its new business manager during a special Board of Education meeting Feb. 14.

Bizzarro succeeds Jonathan Boehme, who recently accepted a position at the Hudson City School District. Bizzarro will start her new duties at Germantown CSD on March 18. Questar III BOCES is providing central business office support in the interim.

“We are fortunate to go from one great administrator in Mr. Boehme to another in Ms. Bizzarro,” GCS Superintendent Susan L.S. Brown said. “We believe that she is a great fit for our school community, and we look forward to her starting on March 18.”

Bizzarro has returned to the area after spending time as the administrative director for financial services for Collier County Public Schools in Naples, Florida.

She attended the Russell Sage College in Troy, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. Bizzarro was an assistant director of finance and business services for The Sage Colleges. She also worked as the district treasurer for the Ballston Spa Central School District and the district treasurer for the Brunswick Central School District.

“I am very excited to be joining the Germantown administrative team as business manager and serving the school community,” Bizzarro said. “I appreciate this opportunity and will devote myself to providing effective service in support of district programs.”
