ANCRAMA — Through a generous gift from an anonymous donor to Ancramdale Neighbors Helping Neighbors Association the organization is helping two deserving students pursue their vocational goals. These are the first two recipients of the ANHNA Vocational Education Grants. Town of Ancram residents who wish to advance their job skills are encouraged to apply.

Alyssa DeRocha’s work as an emergency room technician has motivated her to pursue a nursing degree and receive her nursing license. The grant she has received will help her take the part-time courses needed at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Amya Anderson attends Taconic Hills High School and has been accepted into the two year Cosmetology Program at Questar III. The grant she received will help her pay for the equipment needed to complete her course work.

To contact the Neighbors organization about a potential community need, call Jack Lindsey at 518-329-7306 or Hila Richardson at 917-414-8270. In addition you can reach us through email at Contributions, and inquiries can also be mailed to ANHNA, PO Box 97, Ancramdale, NY 12503.
