DR EVARTS Library HIts it into the Park

Contributed photoThe DR Evarts Library has not hit it out of the park, they hit it into the park, the Athens Riverfront Park. Installed along the fence is the first Riverfront Tale, a series of 31 beautiful colorful illustrated panels, attached to the fence at ‘kid-eye level,’ telling the story of ‘Scaredy Squirrel’ and his search for a Perfect Friend. It’s a fun story about making unexpected friends and how time flies when you’re having fun — a great topic for intergenerational discussion. Activity in the park and on the river are an added attraction. There will be a new story every week or two, so visit often and catch all the new stories. The DR Evarts Library thanks the Village Mayor and Trustees for approving this DR Evarts Library project. Also, check out the Scavenger Hunts in the windows of Glenco Construction, Weichert Realtors, Accurate Investigative Services and Athens Antiques on Second Street. The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
