County dispatchers ‘Go Pink’

Contributed photoEmergency Dispatcher Anthony Bashford (11-83), Shift Supervisor Donna Gleason (11-74), Chief Dispatcher Kevin Johnson (11-73), Emergency Dispatchers Jessica Maloy (11-82) and Holly Gambacorta (11-78). In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Columbia County 911 dispatchers challenged each other to ‘go pink,’ to raise donations for a worthy local cancer fund. During October, county 911 dispatchers each donated to the fundraiser. In exchange for their donation, dispatchers received a custom printed tee-shirt that they then wore during their work shifts. The tee-shirts, designed and printed by dispatchers Jessica Maloy and Holly Gambacorta, were pink and included a breast cancer awareness ribbon and the dispatcher’s badge number. Proceeds from the fundraiser were donated to the Columbia County Healthcare Consortium’s Community Cancer Fund. Monies from the Community Cancer Fund are used to offset the financial burden associated with a cancer diagnosis.
