Screening

OLD CHATHAM — Old Chatham Quaker Meetinghouse, 539 County Route 13, Old Chatham, will host a screening of “Always in Season” Jan. 11. Potluck at 6 p.m. and film at 7 p.m. Always in Season takes an unflinching look at the multi-generational impact of lynching, connecting the racial violence that persists today to historical lynching terrorism. The film centers on the case of Lennon Lacy, an African American teen who was found hanging from a swing set in Bladenboro, North Carolina, in 2014, and whose mother, Claudia, seeks answers for her son’s death which was quickly ruled a suicide despite inconsistencies in the case. This film is co-presented with WMHT Public Media. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and a moderated discussion will follow. Mass Choir Concert

KINGSTON — An annual mass choir concert will be performed at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at St. Joseph’s Church, 242 Wall St., Kingston. Hosted by St. Joseph’s music ministry the concert will feature a 75-voice community choir, from Greene and Ulster counties, the Redeemer Lutheran Church Bell Choir and Catskill resident soprano, Alison Davy. To close out the Christmas season, familiar sing-a-long Christmas Carols and several special choral works will be sung. There is no admission and all are welcomed. Coxsackie resident Bob Gaus is the conductor and Jane Touhey the accompanist.

Remembering Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

HUDSON — The Columbia County Interfaith Committee will hold a gathering to remember the message of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 14 Warren St., Hudson. The gathering will include musical performances, a stirring message from Rev. Darrell Gray from Missouri as well as refreshments. All are welcome to this a free event. Freewill offerings are welcome to help defray costs.

Polish Dinner

GREENPORT — Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine, 442 Fairview Ave., Greenport, will hold a Polish dinner, take out only, 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
