Holiday Bazaar

NORTH CHATHAM — The North Chatham United Methodist Church, 4274 Route 203, North Chatham, Holiday Bazaar will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 7, sponsored by the United Methodist Women of the North Chatham and Grace (Nassau) churches. There will be a nice variety of vendors and this is a great chance to do some Christmas shopping locally. Lunch and a bake sale will be available and all proceeds will go to Mission Projects. St. Nicholas Bazaar

MILLBROOK — Grace Church, 3328 Franklin Ave., Millbrook, 5th annual St. Nicholas Bazaar will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 7. The bazaar will include the sale of beautifully decorated holiday cookies and candies, and fine handcrafted items made by local artisans. Shop from a variety of hand-made crafts including knitted and felted clothing and accessories, beaded and silver jewelry, candles, hand-painted glassware, locally produced wool yarn and knitting needles, soaps and lotions, sunflower oil, wood-burned cutting boards, fabric totes, fine photography, unique tree ornaments, festive decorations, live holiday wreaths and greenery, and Mandala greeting cards. You will find gifts for your four-legged friends, your fashion-conscious family members, your co-workers, the eco-minded, and those with a sweet tooth. Choose your own assortment of festive holiday cookies from the traditional sugar and gingerbread cutouts, to the decadent raspberry rugelach, chocolate almond crescents, Italian pignoli, and caramel toffee. Cookies and candy will be boxed and sold by the pound. In addition, there will be a children’s craft activity at a cost of $5 per child. The supervised activity is designed for children 4-9. Holiday Cookie Walk

HUDSON — The UMW of Trinity United Methodist Church, 555 Joslen Blvd., Hudson, will be having a “Craft/Vendor Sale and Holiday Cookie Walk” 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 7. Stop by to choose from the area’s finest cookie creations. The various vendors will be selling soy candles, candies, dog bandanas/bows/signs, knitted & crocheted items, jewelry, wooden banks, and ornaments, just to name a few.

Parents Night Out

KINDERHOOK — Parents Night Out 5-8 p.m. Dec. 7 and Dec. 21 at the Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook. Free child care for kids 3 and older with dinner provided. Hollyday Bazaar

RED HOOK — The Hollyday Bazaar will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Red Hook United Methodist Church, 4 Church St., Red Hook. Sales include attic treasures, crafts, jewelry, holiday wreaths and swags, toys, books, baked goods and candy, in addition to the snack bar for brunch or lunch and live music throughout the day. Screening

OLD CHATHAM — “The River and the Wall” will be screened Dec. 7. Potluck at 6 p.m. followed by the film at 7 p.m. in the Old Chatham Quaker Meetinghouse, 539 County Route 13, Old Chatham. The River and the Wall follows five friends on an immersive adventure through the unknown wilds of the Texas borderlands as they travel 1,200 miles from El Paso to the Gulf of Mexico on horses, mountain bikes, and canoes. Christmas Bazaar

SCHODACK LANDING — The Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack at Muitzeskill, 902 Schodack Landing Road, Schodack Landing, annual Christmas Bazaar will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 7. The Christmas Bazaar will include new and gently used Christmas decorations, cards, gifts, and books, as well as a Luncheon Cafe and a Bake Sale. Annual Meeting

ALBANY — The Capital Region Jewish Genealogical Society annual meeting will be held 1-3 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, 184 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany. CRJGS will be hosting a respected expert from New York City, who will deliver a presentation, “Post 1492 Sephardic Dispersion and A Guide to Sephardic Genealogy.” Sarina Roffé, the author of the book “Branching Out from Sepharad,” will provide an overview of how Sephardic Jews dispersed around the globe after 1492 and will discuss Sephardic resources for genealogy. Following the presentation, please join us to celebrate the holiday season (refreshments and goodies will be served).

Food and Fellowship Luncheon

NEW BALTIMORE — The Food and Fellowship Luncheon Program will be held noon-2 p.m. Dec. 11 at the New Baltimore Reformed Church, 52 Church St., New Baltimore. The menu (subject to change) is baked ham, escalloped potatoes, French style green beans and bread pudding. Following the meal, Shannon Friel (harpist) will be performing. This luncheon is open to all members of the community. To facilitate planning, reservations are encouraged by the Sunday before the luncheon. Christmas Bazaar

SPENCERTOWN — St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, 5219 County Route 7, Spencertown, Annual Christmas Bazaar will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 14. This family event includes a cookie walk, jewelry sale, handcrafted items and a silent auction. Also featured is a raffle for a unique handmade quilt. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Handicapped accessible.

KINGSTON — The Immaculate Conception Church in Kingston presents The Singing Anchors Benita Zahn and Jerry Gretzinger of WNYT Channel 13, performing a cabaret of Holiday Tunes Dec. 15 at The Venue Uptown in the Best Western Plus, 503 Washington Ave., Kingston. Blue Christmas

RED HOOK — The Red Hook Area Council of Churches will sponsor a Blue Christmas service at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the United Methodist Church, 4 Church St., Red Hook. Worship with others who are feeling much the way you are this Christmas. There will be refreshments for those who would like to linger a bit after this short service designed with you in mind.

GHENT — The Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent, will a Blue Christmas service at 7 p.m. Dec. 21. This service is designed to provide comfort to those who are sad, who sorrow and who are depressed during the “holiday” season. Join us on this longest night of the year and leave your burdens at the foot of the cross. All are welcome.

Soup and Sandwich Nights

HUDSON — The First Reformed Church, 52 Green St., Hudson, will hold free soup and sandwich nights 5-6 p.m. through March. Dine in only. The schedule is Dec. 19, Jan. 2, Jan. 16, Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 5 and March 19.

Lessons and Carols

KINDERHOOK — The annual Lessons and Carols directed by David Smith will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 22 at the Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook. It is a worship service celebrating the birth of Jesus. All are welcome.

Christmas Eve

HILLSDALE — A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 24 at the Hillsdale United Methodist Church, Routes 22 and 23, Hillsdale. There will be a choir singing familiar carols. Everyone is welcome.

KINDERHOOK — The annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 24 at the Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook. All are welcome.

GHENT — A candlelight Christmas Eve service will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 24 at the Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent. Welcome the baby on this most holy of nights. After service, light refreshments will be served.

Remembering Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

HUDSON — The Columbia County Interfaith Committee will hold a gathering to remember the message of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 14 Warren St., Hudson. The gathering will include musical performances, a stirring message from Rev. Darrell Gray from Missouri as well as refreshments. All are welcome to this a free event. Freewill offerings are welcome to help defray costs.
