Lutheran Parish of Southern Columbia County

CHURCHTOWN — The Lutheran Parish of Southern Columbia County will meet at 9 a.m. Aug. 2 outdoors at St. Thomas Church, Route 27, Churchtown and at 11 a.m. Aug. 2 outdoors at St. John’s Church at Manorton, 923 County Route 19, Elizaville. Bring a lawn chair for seating.

Chicken Barbecue

SCHODACK LANDING — The Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack at Muitzeskill announce the annual chicken barbecue 4-6 p.m. Aug. 8, take out only. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the mini-market will not be taking place. No eating on the premises. The meal will include chicken, potato salad, corn, cabbage salad and watermelon. Adults, $14; children 6-12, $7. Reserve meals by calling 732-7345. If no answer, leave a message including name, number and that you are calling regarding the barbecue. You will be called back. The church is located at the intersection of Schodack Landing Road and Muitzeskill Road, in Schodack Landing. Wear masks during pick-up and maintain social distancing.

GHENT — The Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, Ghent, will be barbecuing chicken halves so you don’t have to heat up your house for dinner 3-6 p.m. Aug. 8. A full dinner includes half a chicken, potato, veggie and dessert. Full dinner, $12; half chicken, $6. This is a drive-thru event. To reserve tickets, call Dick at 518-392-2062.

Giffy’s Chicken Barbecue

VALATIE — The First Presbyterian Church of Valatie, 3212 Church St., Valatie, will host a drive thru Giffy’s Chicken Barbecue 5-7 p.m. Aug. 14. The menu includes a half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll and butter, dessert and a beverage. Tickets are $13. Advance tickets are strongly recommended. CATSKILL — The Knights of Columbus will have a chicken barbecue 3-6 p.m. Aug. 20, take out only. Pick up at the parking lot of St. Patrick’s Church, Catskill, on the corner of William and Spring streets. Tickets are $13. Tickets may be purchased or reserved by calling Pete Gustas at 518-943-5138.

Ghent Reformed Church

GHENT — The Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, Ghent, is back to having a regular Sunday service. Service begins at 9 a.m. and the church is complying with the required safety requirements. Coffee hour after worship is missed, but it’s great to see our friends and neighbors again.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

KINDERHOOK — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kinderhook offers the following services:

Sunday Morning prayer with sermon at 8 a.m. Weekday Morning Prayer at 9 a.m. Weekday Evening Prayer at 5 p.m.

Services are live streamed on Facebook at the stated times.
