Catskill Elks donates to Cairo Food Pantry

Contributed photoWhile the Catskill Elks Lodge might be temporarily closed due to COVID-19, we are still at work behind the scenes helping our community. Brenda Lubera, PER, was successful in obtaining a $2,000 Gratitude Grant from Grand Lodge earmarked specifically for local food pantries. These monies were divided up, based on volume of business, among the three largest pantries in Greene County. Pictured are Trustee Debbi Traficante and Past Exalted Ruler Charlie Cinatti with Stacey Poulsen, Executive Director of the Cairo Food Pantry. These monies will allow the food pantries to purchase inventory from the Northeastern Regional Food Bank, thus maximizing the funds received, in a time when these pantries are increasingly needed due to the devastating impact this pandemic is having in our community. As a proud lodge under the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Catskill Elks 1341 is so pleased that we could be a part in supporting such vital work.
