Contributed photoGiovanna Manoli has been chosen as the Cairo-Durham High School Student of the Month for January 2021. Giovanna is pictured here with her former Spanish teacher and current National Honor Society adviser, Mrs. Miner. As a member of the NHS, Giovanna has demonstrated her desire to be a strong leader as well as being an excellent example to her peers. She is friendly, respectful, diligent and responsible. Giovanna has maintained high academic standards here at Cairo-Durham and has been recognized by several colleges, receiving the Clarkson Scholarship, the Wells Leadership Scholarship and the St. Rose Trustees Scholarship. In addition to her academic dedication, Giovanna has also participated in extracurricular activities such as softball, volleyball and the Drama Club. Teachers and students alike appreciate her positive personality and desire to always offer her very best. She has worked within the community at Gavin’s Irish Country Inn and is currently working at Angel’s East Cafe. Her interests include music, playing three instruments and travel softball. Giovanna is a senior this year and although we will greatly miss seeing her in our hallways next year, we wish her well and look forward to hearing of her successes. She plans on attending the college of Saint Rose for Communication Sciences and Disorders.
