Sept. 23

KINDERHOOK — The Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook, will hold a Brooks barbecue 3-6:30 p.m. Sept. 23. Dinner includes half a chicken, potato, roll and cole slaw. Cost of the dinner is $12 and $8 for half a chicken. Preregistration is advised. For information and reservations, call 518-758-6401 or kinderhookreformedchurch.com. Curbside pickup only; use “The School” horseshoe driveway for pickup. All proceeds will go toward the operation and maintenance of the Kinderhook cemetery.

Sept. 26

GHENT — The Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent, will hold an outdoor yard sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 26 in place of the Church Fair. They will also serve “home” cooked food and baked goods. Everything will be pre-packaged and sold outside. There will be no food served in the building. We will be working diligently to maintain social distancing and trying to keep everyone healthy. Masks are mandatory. Inside, there will be books for sale, but only 2 people at a time may come into the building to view/purchase them.

ANCRAM — The Ancram Ladies Auxiliary will host a craft and tag sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Ancram Fire House, 1306 County Route 7, Ancram. Vendors are wanted. $20 includes table and chairs. Sept. 27

MELLENVILLE — The Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company, 33 County Road 9, Mellenville, will host a chicken barbecue noon-2:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the firehouse. Take outs will be available. There will be no indoor dining at this event. Tickets are $12. Call for reservations at 518-672-7179 or tickets may be purchased on the day of the event.

Oct. 3

GHENT — The Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent, will host a free Drive-Thru Luncheon noon-2 p.m. Oct. 3. We know that the same fellowship you have enjoyed in the past with the monthly dinners cannot be provided at this time, but we are looking forward to that time when we can be together again.

Oct. 10

HUDSON — Christ Church Episcopal, 431 Union St., Hudson, will hold a Pre-Holiday Yard Sale open to the public 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 10. Rain date is Oct. 17. For sale will be seasonal decorations, useful household items, garden tools, pottery and accessories plus an array of books. The event will be on the church grounds including a tent. The church’s New to You Shop has been closed since March but items from the shop will be on sale outside. The public is asked to wear face masks and to observe social distancing at the sale. CHATHAM — St. James Church, 117 Hudson Ave., Chatham, will hold its Treasure & Trifle Sale for the benefit of a community in Haiti 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 10. Rain date will be Oct. 12. Items

include glassware, dishes, linens, vases, holiday decorations, decorative items and much more.

Oct. 14

NEW BALTIMORE — The New Baltimore Reformed Church, Route 144 and Church Street, New Baltimore, will be holding the The Food and Fellowship Luncheon Program noon-1 p.m. Oct. 14. The menu will be roast pork, gravy, applesauce, peas, oven browned potatoes and apple crisp. Due to the current COVID risk, the luncheons will be provided as takeout ONLY. Reservations are required for you to obtain your takeout luncheon. To make reservations, call the church at 518-756-8764 or email nbrchurch@aol.com. Include your name, contact number, and the number of reservations you are making for this meal. Free will offerings are graciously accepted to offset food costs.
