MILLBROOK — Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County is accepting applications for Master Gardener Volunteer training. Training begins Sept. 9.

Volunteers are given in-depth training on a wide variety of horticulture topics. Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates volunteer 100 hours over a two year period staffing our horticulture diagnostic lab and working on community projects. Candidates must have a basic knowledge of gardening, a flexible schedule, be a Dutchess County resident and at least 18 years old.

VALATIE — The Ichabod Crane Middle School D.C. Club is hosting a Brooks BBQ 4-7 p.m. June 17. The event will take place at the Ichabod Crane Middle School Cafeteria. It is curbside take out and is pre-order only. Dinners include chicken or ribs, cole slaw, dinner roll, baked potato, a beverage and a World’s Finest chocolate bar for dessert. Chicken dinners, pre-order dinner price, $11; St. Louis pork ribs dinner, pre-order dinner price, $13. Checks should be made out to ICMS D.C. Club. Orders and checks must be received prior to June 10. Mail to Lara Marotta, c/o ICMS, 2910 Route 9, Valatie 12184. You will receive an email confirmation once your order is received. You will receive an order number which needs to be brought with you when picking up dinners. For questions and to order, email dcclub@ichabodcrane.org. D.C.
