KINDERHOOK — The Columbia Land Conservancy will host an Apple Tree Care Workshop 10-11:30 a.m. April 13 at Samascott Orchards, 5 Sunset Ave., Kinderhook. Led by Jake Samascott and CLC trustee Will Yandik, learn how to care for apple trees and develop skills to take home. This event will include limited walking on flat ground in the apple orchard. At one time she moved to Vail, Colorado and became a ski instructor & racer. Dr. Stahl woke up one day and decided to fly an airplane. The next day, she was in Flight School! Within a few months, she had her private pilot’s license! The next year she obtained her instrument rating, a week before she started Medical School. This past year she received her Commercial Pilots License. Dr. Stahl flies about 3 times per week. She is married to one of her Medical School classmates who is now a General Surgeon at Oswego Health, so flying comes in handy. In her spare time (if she has any) she chronicles her flights on Instagram #(amandastahlmd), is a member of Condair Flyers, an artist and a musician. HUDSON FALLS — The Strand Theatre, 210 Main St., Hudson Falls, hosts an afternoon of storytelling as James Frasier interprets Mark Twain at 1 p.m. April 20. Frasier began his characterization of Mark Twain as a college student at The University of Maryland in the bygone days of 1976. After performing a selection from Twain’s Life On The Mississippi to the delight of his oral interpretation class, Frasier began his research of Twain and built a repertoire of some of the same selections, stories and aphorisms that entertained Twain’s audiences on the lyceum circuit of the 19th century.
