KINDERHOOK — A woman was brought to the hospital for treatment of body pain after a two-car crash Thursday on Route 9H, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an accident around 7 a.m. involving two vehicles and injuries on state Route 9H at the intersection of Keegan Road in the town of Kinderhook.

Timothy Cowin, 46, of Hudson, was driving a 2001 Ford Escape north on state Route 9H and made a left turn onto Keegan Road, crossing into the path of a 2017 Nissan Altima driven by Amy Koo, 27, of Troy, who was traveling south and was struck by the Ford, according to the sheriff’s office.

The impact caused the Nissan to go off the west side of the road and come to rest on the south shoulder. The Ford spun around 180 degrees and came to rest in the middle of the intersection, according to the sheriff’s office.

Koo complained of hip and arm pain from the crash and was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital by Valatie Rescue Squad.

No other injuries were reported and there were no passengers in either vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Cowin was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection. He is scheduled for an appearance in Kinderhook Town Court at a later date.

Valatie Rescue Squad, Niverville Fire Department and Columbia County Highway Department assisted at the scene.
