Virginia M. “Ginny” Rothermel

Virginia M. “Ginny” Rothermel, 91, of Kinderhook died Sunday, July 8, 2018 at The Grand at Barnwell.

Born July 3, 1927 in Muitzeskill, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Marion (Rossman) Mann. Ginny was an Executive Secretary for the New York State Assembly in Albany. She was a founding member of the Palmer Engine & Hose Co. Ladies Auxillary, a member of the Kinderhook Reformed Church and the Clapp Novak American Legion Post in Kinderhook.

She is survived by two daughters: Bonnie Sutherland of Kinderhook and Debbie Lynch of Valatie, one son Charles Rothermel of Kinderhook, 6 grandchildren, Peter and Rick Rothermel, Kenneth Sutherland Jr., Kari Anne Powell, Raine and Gage Rothermel, 3 great grandchildren, Kenneth Jacob, Katie Jane and Angela Rothermel as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward G. Rothermel, two sons William and Paul Rothermel, a brother Warren Mann and sister Irene Smith and her grandson Justin Lynch.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, July 13 at the Raymond E Bond Funeral Home, Valatie, with Rev. Rudy Visser officiating. Burial will follow in Kinderhook Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 12th from 5-8pm at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Palmer Engine & Hose Co. Ladies Auxillary.
