Thomas W. MacGregor

Thomas W. MacGregor, 59, beloved son of Billie and Thomas H. MacGregor, died on August 29, 2018. Born December 18, 1958 in Camden, New Jersey, Tom grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania and Albany, New York. Tom enjoyed many summers on Biscay Pond in Bristol, Maine. He lived in Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, New York, Pemaquid, Maine and Athens, New York. Tom graduated from Albany High School in 1976 and attended the University of Maryland, College Park and State University of New York at Albany, where his father was professor of mathematics for 31 years. Tom worked at Leo Castelli Gallery, New York, and as studio manager for the artist Richard Artschwager for more than a decade, he oversaw the installation of several large-scale sculptural projects at sites in the United States and abroad. Following his years in the art world, Tom founded his own architectural design firm in Brooklyn, New York, completing residential projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City, Pemaquid, Maine and Amsterdam, New York.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Marion MacGregor of Brooklyn, New York, his uncle Lawrence Smith of Boothbay, Maine, and his parents of Athens, New York.

In addition to his love of designing, building and renovating homes, Tom loved music, running marathons, and fishing with his father.
