CANAAN — A 16-year-old was charged with choking another boy until he was unconscious at the Berkshire Farm Center, police said.
The 16-year-old was charged Sept. 14 with second-degree strangulation, a class D felony, according to police.
The incident occurred Sept. 12 during an argument between the teen and the alleged victim, police said. The teen allegedly put the victim in a choke hold until the boy lost consciousness.
The boy regained consciousness and was taken to Columbia Memorial Health in Hudson for evaluation, police said.
The 16-year-old was released back to the Berkshire Farm Center, 13640 Route 22, after his arraignment in Canaan Town Court. He is due back in court on Thursday.
