SAUGERTIES — A Tannersville man was arrested Monday night after he struck a parked car in Saugerties, police said.
Andrew H. Yonnetti, 26, was charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor; unlawful possession of marijuana and failing to stay right, both violations, according to a statement from Saugerties police.
Yonnetti was traveling north on Route 9W when he ran off the road, entered the Knights of Columbus parking lot and struck an unoccupied parked car, according to Saugerties police.
Saugerties police responded to the Knights of Columbus at 10:37 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. Deputies interviewed Yonnetti at the scene, according to Saugerties police.
Yonnetti was taken into custody where it was determined he had a .15 percent blood alcohol content after taking a chemical test, according to police. The state legal blood alcohol limit is 0.08.
The Tannersville man was released to a third party and is due to appear in Saugerties Village Justice Court on Nov. 5 to answer his charges, according to Saugerties police.
