Southern Tier Seniors

CLERMONT — The Southern Tier Seniors will meet June 7 at the Clermont Firehouse off of Route 9G. Doors open at 11 a.m. Desserts this month will be provided by members whose last name begin with A through F. There will be a regular business meeting at noon. The program this month will be the ugly tie contest in honor of Father’s day we hope all members will participate.

Travel Plans coming up:

June 29 – A Blast From The Past, visit a 42 room gilded age cottage, ride on a trolley at the Trolley Museum. A narrated boat ride on the Connecticut River.

July 19 – Saratoga Casino with free play bonus.

Aug. 16 – A full barbecue and boat ride on Lake Hopatcong, Penn. with entertainment.

Sept. 20 – Enjoy a musical Friesians of Majesty horse show with supper at the New England House and stops at Apple Barn and Grafton Cheese shop in Vermont.

Ghent/Chatham Seniors

CHATHAM — The Ghent/Chatham Seniors will meet at 1:30 p.m. June 7 at St. James Church, 117 Hudson Ave., Chatham. Speaker will be Capt. Stanley Wilcox of the Spirit of the Hudson riverboat.

Refreshments will be served by Bill & Milli Hogancamp, Glen & Irene Holtzhauer, Sandy Jackson, Sue Ihlenberg. For club information, call Bootie Fenoff at 518-392-4805. For trip information, call Milli Hogancamp at 518-392-3261.

Claverack Seniors

CLAVERACK — There will be a change in time and venue for the June meeting of the Claverack Seniors. Members will meet at 11 a.m. June 9 at Pine Haven. A short meeting will be followed by a luncheon. On June 14 members who wish to work with Pine Haven residents on the Dog Days of Summer Project should meet in the activity room at Pine Haven at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of a July meeting the annual picnic will be held at 4 p.m. July 14 at the Town Park in Mellenville.

All are welcome to attend the following trips:

June 28: Essex, Conn., train and boat ride, choose roast beef or chicken Parmesan lunch included, $50.

Aug. 15: Fort Ticonderoga, lunch on your own, $23.

Oct. 19: Foxwoods Casino, bonuses and Indian museum (small fee), $2.

Nov. 14: Aqua Turf, Plantsville, Conn., dinner and “Cher & Elvis: Two Legends,” $43.

Dec. 6: Williams Inn, Williamstown, Mass., dinner and entertainment, $52.

Non-members pay an additional $10 for trips.

Pick-ups will be made at the former Town Highway Garage on Route 217 and at the AB Shaw Firehouse on Route 23.

Cooking class

HUDSON — Health education and plant-based cooking class will be held 6-7 p.m. June 20 and June 27 and 5-6 p.m. June 13 at the Hudson Senior Center, 51 North Fifth St., Hudson. Topics include the benefits of detox, overcoming addiction/substance abuse, weight loss and exercise, and stress and depression.

Potluck dinner

HUDSON — The Artists & Friends Community Potluck Dinner meets at 6 p.m. June 16 at the Hudson Area Library, 51 North Fifth St., Hudson.

Bring a dish to share and bring art work to share.
