Maple Hill High School graduate Jaime Schultz is heading to the big leagues.

The former Wildcat got the call-up on Sunday prior to the Tampa Bay Rays’ series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.

Schultz is 1-1 with one save this season with the Triple-A Durham Bulls, striking out 29 batters in just 15 1/3 innings pitched.

Schultz has steadily progressed through the ranks after being drafted out of High Point University and has spent time with the Rays during spring training.

It’s unknown how long Schultz will be with the team, which has optioned to go with a four-man rotation and use the fifth rotation day as a “bullpen day” where three-to-four relief pitchers throw a few innings apiece.

Schultz has been a reliever since the 2017 season where he helped the Bulls win the 2017 Triple-A National Championship.
