To the editor:
In the 1950s to 1960s my husband, two children and I enjoyed not only the beauty of Tillson Lake and its surroundings, but also swimming in its lovely, cool, pristine water. My children always loved to skate in the roller skating rink there as well. Our family picnics by the lake are cherished memories.
To lose Tillson Lake would be a tragedy for the community. And truthfully, there is no reason in the world to turn that beautiful lake into what surely will become a muddy stream without fish.
First the roller skating rink was taken away. Then swimming was taken away. Now you think you should take away the lake? You’re stealing things from the people!
We must save our lake.
