Ralph C. Ham, Jr., 74, of Stuyvesant, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospice, Albany. After a long battle with his illness, he came to rest in peace with his beloved son, Eddie on Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018. Born September 15, 1943, he was the husband of Cheryl Lee (Demarest) Ham. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing this man, would appreciate how amazing he was. Committed to his family, he took great pride and devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Ralph’s employment includes 34 years at Fort Orange Paper Company in Castleton and 8 years at Hudson City School, Hudson. He was also a life member of the Stuyvesant Fire Company. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lee (Demarest)Ham; three daughters, Sandra L. O’Neil of Chatham, Barbara M. Ham-Doyle of Stuyvesant and Michele M. Robillard of Stockport; one brother, Mark Ham of Virginia; two sisters, Marilyn Proniske of Claverack and Maria Lippero of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Shawn Edward Hamm, Korey Leigh Lynn, Frank Doyle IV, David O’Neil, Jr., and Devon Robillard; a great granddaughter Serenity Lynn and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Ralph C. Ham, Sr. and Viola (Sweet) Lippera; his stepmother, Emily Ham and his son, Edward Ham.Calling Hours will be held Friday from 10-12 PM at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. A graveside service will follow at the Firwood Cemetery in Stuyvesant. Donation may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
