CHATHAM — A Nassau man was arrested Dec. 27 in connection with a Christmas Eve home burglary in Chatham, police said.

William Morehouse, 25, of Nassau, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, following a police investigation into a Dec. 24 burglary at a White Mills Road home, according to Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett.

Police responded to the residence Dec. 24 where the victim reported several items were stolen, including electronics, prescription medication and jewelry.

Morehouse was identified during the police investigation through the use of the victim’s home video surveillance system.

Sheriff’s Investigators Patrick Logue and Ian Boehme located Morehouse in the Schodack area and later interviewed him where he admitted to his involvement in the burglary, Bartlett said.
