LOCAL ROUNDUP: Germantown volleyball wins again

CATSKILL — Germantown posted a 3-0 Patroon Conference volleyball victory over Catskill on Thursday.

The unbeaten Clippers won by scores of 25-15, 27-25 and 25-18.

Jeremy Cosenza had 4 kills, 20 assists, 4 digs and 1 block for Germantown. Riley Griffin added 11 kills, 1 assist, 3 aces and 4 digs; Anthony Smith 2 kills, 1 dig and 2 blocks; Chris Diamanti 2 assists, 1 ace, 4 digs and 2 blocks; Nick Comesanas 4 kills, 1 ace and 5 digs; Charles Scalia 2 aces and 7 digs; Caleb Wynkoop 2 kills and 1 dig; Matt Bogert 2 kills, 1 dig and 2 blocks and Laimis Shinozaki 2 kills, 1 dig and 1 block.

Andrew Tran had 9 service points, 5 aces, 3 kills and 8 assists for Catskill (3-4). Josh Carter contributed 3 service points, 4 kills, 5 assists and 2 blocks; Magnus Bush 4 service points, 2 kills, 3 digs and 4 blocks; Elisha Clause 6 service points, 1 ace, 1 kill and 1 dig and Lorenzo Bordina 9 service points, 1 ace and 5 digs.

Germantown faces Chatham at home on Monday and Catskill goes to Greenville on Wednesday.

Ichabod Crane 3, Chatham 0

VALATIE — Ichabod Crane earned its fifth win of the season on Thursday, blanking Chatham, 3-0, in Patroon Converence volleyball action.

The Riders (5-3) posted winning scores of 26-24, 25-21 and 25-17.

Trevor Wolfe had 12 assists, 3 aces and 1 kill for ICC. Harrison Puckett added 11 assists and 4 kills; Jake Siter 5 kills and 1 block; Dean Warner 10 kills and 3 blocks; Logan Groat 4 kills and 1 block; JanKarl Galia 8 digs and 1 ace; Donte Northrup 8 kills, 6 digs and 4 aces and Jared Cook 1 ace and 1 dig.

Ichabod Crane visits Voorheesville on Monday.

PATROON BOWLING

Hudson 5, Catskill 0

CATSKILL — Matt Bowes rolled a 224-577 and Ian Hutchings added a 204-575 to lead Hudson past Catskill, 5-0, in Thursday’s Patroon Conference bowling match at Hoe Bowl Lanes.

Hudson had games of 1,114, 1,02 and 1,085 for 3,220. Catskill hit 1,057, 891 and 919 for a total pinfall of 2,867.

Senior Olivia Elliott had her best match of the season, firing a 203-530.

“She’s been getting better and better,” Hudson coach Steve Markowitz said. “As a team we were very consistent tonight. Five out of six 6 bowlers were at 500-plus and one that wasn’t was only a few spares from.”

Michale Jubie topped Catskill with a 215-592.

Hudson improved to 7-1 (34-6) and will take on Coxsackie-Athens, while Catskill meets Chatham on Tuesday at Hoe Bowl Lanes.

Cairo-Durham 3, Chatham 2

EAST GREENBUSH — Phil Decker rolled a 247-696 to spark Cairo-Durham to a 3-2 victory over Chatham in Thursday’s Patroon Conference bowling match at the East Greenbush Bowling Center.

Nate Woodcock added a 191-415 to the Mustangs’ cause.

Andrew Duso had a 205-527 for Chatham. Chris Gilger added a 201-534.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Ravena 51, Catskill 23

RAVENA — Samantha Baker and Grace Engel each had 13 points to lead Ravena to a 51-23 non-league girls basketball victory over Catskill on Thursday.

The Indians led 19-8 through one quarter of action and widened the gap to 33-11 at halftime and 40-15 after three quarters.

Janay Brantley was Catskill’s top scorer with 11 points.

CATSKILL (23): Brantley 3-4-11, Glass 2-0-5, Konsul 2-0-4, Aaliyah Shook 1-0-3, Salierno 0-0-0. Totals 8-4-23.
