LOCAL ROUNDUP: Erickson drops 37 in Tigers' loss to Maginn

NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon’s Clayton Erickson continued his hot shooting on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Tigers from falling to Bishop Maginn, 66-63, in Central Hudson Valley League boys basketball action.

Erickson had his fourth straight game of 30 points or better, finishing with 37 points. In the four-game stretch, Erickson has scored 139 points and saw his points per game average climb to 25.2, which is sixth best in Section II.

Maginn led 13-8 after one quarter and 33-17 at halftime, then had to hold on as the Tigers put up 46 points over the final two quarters.

Treylan Cortina led the Griffs with 25 points. Jayden Williams added 11.

Tyler Price was New Lebanon’s only other double-figure scorer, finishing with 10.

BISHOP MAGINN (66): Davis 2-2-6, Cortina 8-7-25, K. Williams 2-1-5, J. Williams 5-1-11, Willingham 1-0-3, Gonzalez 2-2-8, Magee 3-0-6, Wilson 1-0-2. Totals 24-13-66.

Germantown 43, Loudonville Christian 33

LOUDONVILLE — Shayla Snow and Riley Gibbons combined for 25 points to spark Germantown to a 43-33 Central Hudson Valley League girls basketball victory over Loudonville Christian on Thursday.

Show had 13 points and Gibbons contributed 12 as the Clippers built quarterly leads of 15-7, 25-22 and 32-24.

Genevieve Swanson ed Loudonville Christian with 13 points.

Germantown visits Pine Plains in a non-league game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

GERMANTOWN (43): Decker 0-1-1, Denninger 2-0-4, Dunn 2-0-4, Gibbons 3-6-12, Hayes 3-0-9, Snow 6-1-13. Totals 16-8-43.

Ichabod Crane 38, Cohoes 24

COHOES — Madie Graham’s 13 points led Ichabod Crane to a 38-24 victory over Cohoes in Thursday’s Colonial Council girls basketball game.

Olivia Huneau scored 12 points for Cohoes.

The Riders trailed 11-8 after one quarter, but pulled ahead 21-14 at halftime and and were up 30-23 after three quarters.

Ichabod Crane hosts Holy Names on Friday at 6 p.m.

Hudson 5, Taconic Hills 0

CATSKILL — Ian Hutchings fired a 213-576 to spark Hudson to a 5-0 Patroon Conference bowling victory over Taconic Hills on Thursday at Hoe Bowl Lanes.

Rob Everhart added a 221-574 for Hudson’s which had a total pinfall of 3,047. Seventh-grader Dylan McDonald rolled a 173 single in his first varsity game.

Taconic Hills had a total pinfall of 2,278.

“We’re really starting to take off this half of the season,” Hudson coach Steve Markowitz said. 

Hudson (9-1, 44-6) takes on Cairo-Durham and Taconic Hills meets Coxsackie-Athens at Hoe Bowl Lanes on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Catskill 5, Cairo-Durham 0

CATSKILL — Michael Jubie’s 210-567 helped Catskill blank Cairo-Durham, 5-0, in Thursday’s Patroon Conference bowling match at Hoe Bowl Lanes.

Max Marchesani followed Jubie with a 201-519 for the Cats.

Phil Decker led Cairo-Durham with a 212-597.

Cairo-Durham meets Hudson and Catskill takes on Maple Hill, Thursday at 4 p.m. at Hoe Bowl Lanes.

Coxsackie-Athens 5, Chatham 0

EAST GREENBUSH — Kamryon Harris spun a 200 single to highlight Coxsackie-Athens’ 5-0 win over Chatham in Thursday’s Patroon Conference bowling match at East Greenbush Bowling Center.

Harris finished with a 482 triple. Damien Calvo added a 177-508.

Chris Gilger rolled a 169-432 for Chatham. LJ Morse contributed a 168-430.

Coxsackie-Athens hosts Taconic Hills at Hoe Bowl Lanes and Chatham meets Rensselaer at East Greenbush Bowling Center on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Maple Hill 5, Rensselaer 0

EAST GREENBUSH — Austin Barden fired a 235-640 as Maple Hill defeated Rensselaer, 5-0 in Patroon Conference bowling action at East Greenbush Bowling Center on Thursday.

The Wildcats finished with a total pinfall of 3,173. Rensselaer had a total of 2,276.

Tim Foust led Rensselaer with a 200-525.

Maple Hill takes on Catskill at Hoe Bowl Lanes and Rensselaer hosts Chatham at East Greenbush Bowling Center on Thursday at 4 p.m.
