Licia “Nonna” Capulli (Berardi)

Licia “Nonna” Capulli (Berardi) died peacefully on March 11, 2019 at the age of 88.

Licia was born on August 15, 1930 in San Vittorino, Italy to her parents Paolo and Clementina Berardi.

She immigrated to the United States in 1957 with her husband Alberto. Her and Alberto settled into Westchester, NY. Years later in 1972 Licia, Alberto and their two sons moved to Cairo, NY.

She was a very talented seamstress, krotcher and cook along with many other talents. She enjoyed entertaining company especially her family, gardening and plants. She was a generous individual who loved children. She especially loved watching all children especially her grandchild. She was a devoted Catholic.

Licia is survived by her husband of 62 years Alberto Capulli, her children Adrian (Eileen) Capulli and Paul (Donna) Capulli, her grandchildren Jenilee (Daniel), Paul (Kellie), Adrian and Katie and her great grandson Lawrence, her sibling Silvano as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was a beloved “nonna” (grandma), wife, mother, aunt and friend to many.

She was predeceased by her parents Paolo and Clementina Berardi, her sister Lina, her brother Silverino.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross St. Cairo, N.Y., on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.

Mass of the Christian will be celebrated on Friday, March 15, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. at The Our Lady of Knock Shrine, Route 145, Durham, N.Y. with Fr. Paul Guido The Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in the family plot of The St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill, N.Y.

A reception to follow at Anthony’s Restaurant 746 Co. Rte. 23B Leeds, N.Y. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Licia’s life.

Flowers are acceptable and may be sent to Richards Funeral Home, as Licia loved flowers.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of The Pines of Catskill for giving her the best care possible.

She will be forever in our hearts.
