Late rally lifts Green Tech over ICC

ALBANY -- Green Tech overcame a 14-point second-half deficit with two unanswered scores to hand Ichabod Crane a 22-20 setback in Friday night's non-conference high school football game.

Crane led 6-0 after one quarter and 14-6 at halftime. A touchdown early in the third quarter widened the gap to 20-6, before Green Tech rallied.

Clifford Mann tossed a 10-yard TD pass to Rahsier Chandler and Traydon Lawrence broke off a 19-yard scoring run, with Lawrence running for the two-point conversion each time to provide the Eagles with the winning margin.

Lawrence finished with 211 yards rushing on 25 carries for Green Tech.

Tobi Zucco had 159 yards rushing and a touchdown n 27 carries. Marcus George added 24 yards and two scors on five carries.

Senior Tyler James completed 8 of 15 passes fr 128 yards. Haydon Broockman had three catches for 61 yards and Zucco had one catch for 48 yards.

"Tremendous overall effort by our boys," Ichabod Crane first-year coach Tom Call said. They battled all nght vs. a very talented Class A school."

Ichabod Crane (0-1) travels to Hudson Friday night at 7 in a Class B Reinfurt Division game.

Columbia 12, Hudson 0

EAST GREENBUSH -- Class A Columbia High limited Hudson to just 109 yards of total offense en route to a 12-0 victory in Friday's non-conference high school football game.

After a scoreless first quarter, TJ Scaccia got Columbia on the board with a touchdown run. The Blue Devils tacked on one more score in the second half on a touchdown reception by Darryl Williams.

The Bluehawks had just 50 yard rushing, led by Charles Goodermote's three-carry, 23-yard performance. Tyler Bleau had 13 yards on 10 carries.

Quarterback Corey Topple completed 5 of 13 passes for 46 yards. Goodermote completed 2 of 3 throws for 13 yards.

Freshman Isaiah Maines had two catches for 43 yards to lead the receiving corps.

Topple led the Hudson defense with eight solo tackles. Delroy Smith had five solos and one assist; Nick Bernockie four solos and two assists; Bleau four solos and two assists; Emmett Fairbairn four solos and one assist; Charles Goodermote three solos and one assist; James Robinson three solos; Brock Saunders two solos and one assist; Isaiah Robinson one solo and one assist; Mike Green one solo and one assist; Dayquan Griffin two assists; Tristen Collins one assist; Antonio McCalop one solo; Isaiah Maines one assist.

Hudson (0-1) hosts Ichabod Crane in its home opener on Friday at 7 p.m.
