CHATHAM -- The Chatham Lady Panthers used a six-point rally in the third set to capture a 3-0 victory over Taconic Hills in Patroon Conference volleyball action.
The Lady Panthers cruised to two wins in the first two sets, winning by scores of 25-14 and 25-18.
In the third set, the Lady Titans challenged Chatham to force a set four taking an early 10-7, but Chatham continued to fight, tying the set at 12 apiece.
The set continued to be a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading the lead, however, Taconic Hills took a commanding 22-19 lead.
However, after Chatham timeout, the Lady Panthers came out and pulled off a six-point rally to steal the set and take a 3-0 match victory.
Greenville 3, Rensselaer o
GREENVILLE — The Greenville Lady Spartans blanked the Rensselaer Lady Rams 3-0 in Patroon Conference volleyball action Thursday afternoon.
Greenville won by set scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-16.
Hudson 21, Cairo-Durham 3
CLAVERACK —The Hudson Bluehawks dominated the Cairo-Durham Mustangs on the links 21-3 in Patroon Golf action Thursday afternoon.
Pat Taylor, Matt Bowes, Jake McDonald, Daniel Zito, Brady McDonald, and Matthew Gower each bested their opponents despite playing in wet conditions.
Bowes and Brady McDonald each shot a match-low 47.
Hudson (2-0) travels to Coxsackie-Athens today at 4 p.m.
NONLEAGUE GIRLS SOCCER
Catskill 9, Berlin 2
NEW LEBANON — Catskill is heading to the championship match of the New Lebanon girls soccer tournament after beating Berlin 9-2 on Thursday night.
Jenna Quick and Maci Mosher each notched a hat trick in the win while Jillian Murray scored twice and Katie Bulich added a goal. Hailey Rowell had three assists as Bulich dished off two and Emily Liepshutz, Murray, Alex Espel and MaryKate Glass had one apiece.
Berlin’s Rachel Bortnick and Tatum Kells each scored in the losing effort.
Catskill takes on the winner of New Lebanon/Taconic Hills in the title game on Saturday at 5 p.m.
