Lady Indians shoot down Lady Bluehawks
COXSACKIE — Coxsackie-Athens scored early and often en route to claiming a 10-1 victory over Hudson in Patroon Conference varsity girls soccer on Wednesday.
The Lady Indians had a balanced scoring attach with eight players finding the back of the net. Hannah Crown scored two goals 44 seconds apart from one another while Anya Josberger added two of her own with one coming on a penalty kick. Allie Donovan, Kailana Burnell, Emily Thomas, Darian Brody, Maeve Rositzke and Kezia Decker each added a goal. Rositzke also had an assist.
Hudson’s Byonte Jones scored a goal to prevent the shutout in the first half.
At halftime, C-A led 7-1, outshooting Hudson 15-2 and holding a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
For the game, C-A outshot Hudson 31-4 and held a 20-1 edge in corners. In the net, C-A keeper Jessica Steinke snagged four saves.
Catskill 5, Cairo-Durham 0
CAIRO — The Catskill Cats blanked the defending co-Patroon Champion Cairo-Durham Lady Mustangs 5-0 in Patroon Conference soccer action Wednesday afternoon.
The Cats held a 2-0 lead at the half, before piling on three more goals in the second period to capture the win.
Maci Mosher and Mary Kate Glass led the offensive attack for Catskill with two goals apiece and Aryanna Burbas chipped in a goal that was assisted by Jenna Quick.
Cairo-Durham keeper Amber Powell recorded 18 saves in net.
Catskill improves to 2-0 while Cairo-Durham falls to 1-1.
DELAWARE GIRLS SOCCER
Gilboa-Conesville 1, Windham-Ashland-Jewett 0
WINDHAM — The Windham Lady Warriors suffered a heartbreaking defeat Wednesday afternoon, losing to Gilboa-Conesville 1-0 in overtime in Delaware League girl’s soccer action.
After 80 minutes of scoreless action, Tyne Banks scored the game-winning goal with 8:10 left in overtime to give Gilboa the victory.
Keeper Sam Aplin recorded seven saves in net in the loss.
Windham falls to 0-2 on the season.
PATROON BOYS SOCCER
Coxsackie-Athens 2, Hudson 1
HUDSON —The Coxsackie-Athens Indians used two first half goals to down the Hudson Bluehawks 2-1 in Patroon Conference soccer action Wednesday afternoon.
The Indians offense got started early with Spencer Tergeoglou scoring in the second minute, giving Coxsackie-Athens a 1-0 lead.
Hudson responded with a goal by Jahid Hassan in the 12th minute, tying the game at one apiece.
However, Coxsackie-Athens scored the game-winning goal in the 27th minute when Nick Agovino found Austin Schlenker on a corner kick, giving the Indians a 2-1 lead they'd hold for the final 53 minutes.
Coxsackie-Athens held an 8-6 shots on goal advantage. Keeper Anthony Bird recorded eight saves while Hudson keeper Kasey Moore finished with seven.
Coxsackie-Athens improves to 1-1, while Hudson falls to 1-2.
Greenville 8, Chatham 0
GREENVILLE — The Greenville Spartans blanked the Chatham Panthers 8-0 in Patroon Conference soccer action.
Bergen Criswell led the Spartans offense with four goals, Miles Weiss added two, and Isaiah Edmonds finished with one. The eighth goal was an own goal.
To go with his two goals, Weiss added two assists, Criswell finished with an assist, and keeper Morgan Gergen saw some time out of the net and found his teammates for two assists.
With the win, Greenville improves to 2-1 while Chatham falls to 0-2.
Catskill 2, Cairo-Durham 1
CATSKILL — The Catskill Cats remain unbeaten on the season with a 2-1 victory over the Cairo-Durham Mustangs in Patroon Conference soccer action Wednesday afternoon.
The Cats pounced on the Mustangs early, taking a 1-0 lead off a corner kick by Jeremy Bulich that Kymani Rhoden headed home for the goal.
Catskill made it a 2-0 lead with a goal by Addison Allen just before the half.
The Mustangs came out of the half with a better pace was able to hold Catskill from scoring while trying to mount a comeback.
Mustangs’ Noah Warner gathered a loose ball and finished for a goal, to make it a 2-1 game, however, the goal came in the final 10 minutes and Cairo-Durham was unable to complete the comeback.
Mustangs’ keeper Robert Lampman recorded 10 saves while Catskill goalie Andrew Tran finished with three.
Catskill (3-0, 3-0) travels to take on Berlin in non-league soccer action today at 5 p.m. Meanwhile, Cairo-Durham (0-2, 0-2) travels to face Fonda-Fultonville in non-league action today at 4:15 p.m.
Taconic Hills 2, Maple Hill 1
CRARYVILLE — Kolby Clegg’s two-goal performance and game-winning goal proved to be the difference in Taconic Hills upset victory over Maple Hill on Wednesday in Patroon Conference soccer action.
Clegg got the Titans on the board in the 17th minute with a goal, assisted by Chris Davis.
The Wildcats responded with a goal by Joe Beber, assisted by Tim Wochinger, in the 37th minute.
With the game tied at 1-1, Clegg in the 70th minute netted the game-winner, assisted by Phillip Davis, to give the Titans a 2-1 win.
Taconic Hills (2-1, 2-1) hosts Hudson on Monday, while Maple Hill (1-1, 1-1) travels to Chatham on Monday at 4:15 p.m.
Chatham 5, Maple Hill 2
CASTLETON — The Chatham Panthers remained undefeated on the courts, handing Maple Hill their first defeat, 5-2, in Patroon Conference tennis action Wednesday afternoon.
Chatham improves to 4-0 while Maple Hill falls to 4-1.

The loss drops the Lady Indians to 0-2 on the season.

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Spartans defeated the Catskill Cats 9-3 on the links Wednesday afternoon.
Greenville's Trey Smith led the way, shooting a match-low 39.
Hudson 20, Chatham 4
VALATIE — Hudson beat out Chatham 20-4 in Patroon Conference varsity golf on Wednesday at Winding Brook Country Club.
Chatham's Zach Gregg led all golfers with a 41. Hudson's Matt Bowes shot a 47 and Jake McDonald added a 49.
