HUDSON — The Columbia County Sons and Daughters of Italy 659 will kick off October as Italian-American month on Sept. 21 when it will be hosting its 21st Annual John V. Florio Sr. Columbia County Sons and Daughters of Italy 659 Golf Tournament. The event will be held at Copake Country Club on Copake Lake. The tournament will be a 4-person scramble format with an 18 team limit (72 players) and the lodge will accept golfers on a first pay basis. Fee for golf is $110 per player and includes a raffle, course contests, food and refreshments and skins. A new car for a hole in one on 17 is provided by Village Dodge and a hole in one on any par 3 will be awarded a Hilton Head vacation compliments of Metz Wood Harder Insurance.
Registration and the traditional pasta fagioli breakfast will be at 9 a.m. at Copake Country Club. Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be served on the course. Shotgun start will be 10 a.m. A homemade Italian buffet will be served at 3 p.m. at the Italian Lodge, 27 Bridge St., Hudson. For $60 the lodge will display an advertisement on a tee box for all players to see. A $160 contribution will place one ad at a tee box and pay for one person to play. The proceeds from this golf event will be used to sponsor a Senior Award that will be presented to deserving high school seniors.
