Jaime Schultz picked up his second win of the season on Monday night, closing the door on Cleveland, helping Tampa Bay beat the Indians 6-5.

Schultz came on in relief and tossed a hitless ninth inning with one walk and one strikeout to preserve the victory.

Since rejoining the Rays in early September, the Maple Hill High School graduate has pitched exceptionally well.

Schultz has appeared in four games this month, allowing just one hit in 4 2/3 innings pitched. He’s struck out five batters and walked two without allowing an earned run.

On the season, Schultz has accumulated 28 strikeouts and has allowed 11 hits and 14 walks. He’s lowered his ERA to 3.70 and holds a 1.03 WHIP.
