ICC volleyball ends season on high note

CASTLETON — The Ichabod Crane volleyball team won its fourth regional championship in the past eight years with a 3-0 victory over Section III Class B champion Chittenango on Saturday at Maple Hill High School.

The Riders posted winning scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-19.

The Riders swept through the postseason without losing a single set, blanking Cobleskill-Richmondville in the Section II Class B semifinals, Hudson in the Section II championship and Chittenango in the regionals.

Against Chittenango, Dean Warner had 7 kills and 4 blocks; Harrison Puckett 10 assists, 5 aces and 4 kills; Trevor Wolfe 9 assists, 1 ace and 1 kill; Jim Konderwich 6 kills and 1 block; Jake Siter 4 kills, 1 dig and 1 ace; Donte Northrup 1 kill, 1 assist and 4 digs; Logan Groat 1 kill; Jared Cook 2 aces and JanKarl Galia 8 digs.

The Riders finish with an overall record of 15-4 and will lose seniors JanKarl Galia and Donte Northrup to graduation.
