Hunter man arrested on felony drug charges

CATSKILL — A Hunter man was arrested Thursday on drug charges following an investigation by various agencies, according to officials.

Raymond F. Saunders, 27, was charged with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance with a narcotic drug: heroin; three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drugs with intent to sell, both class B felonies; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, according to a statement from the Greene County District Attorney’s office.

Saunders was arrested at 1:09 p.m. in Tannersville, according to state police.

Saunders was arraigned before Greene County Court Judge Charles M. Tailleur at the county courthouse in Catskill and held in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The arrest follows an investigation conducted by the District Attorney’s Office with state police, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Catskill police assisting.
