GREENPORT — Add two more wins to Columbia-Greene Community College women’s basketball’s stellar season.
The Lady Twins (18-3) notched a 113-29 victory over Clinton CC on Saturday and a 75-62 win over North Country CC on Sunday.
Prior to Saturday’s game, C-GCC honored sophomore Tanisha Edge for scoring her 1,000th career point.
Edge lit up the scoreboard after the ceremony, scoring 21 points, stealing nine balls, dishing off six assists and grabbing seven rebounds.
Daniella Weinschreider added 22 points to the Twins’ cause while Casiris Ruiz chipped in with 15, Britney Brazela 14 and Stacey Cherestal 13.
On Sunday, Edge added 25 points to her career total which now stands at 1,093. The Lady Twin also had eight assists, six rebounds and four steals.
Weinschreider scored 15 points in the win as All’aha Albright had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Ruiz scored 10 points.
C-GCC heads to Hudson Valley CC on Wednesday with a 5 p.m. tip time.
The Columbia-Greene men’s team split over the weekend, beating Clinton CC 93-89 before falling to North Country CC 103-76.
In Saturday’s win, Jacorey Nixon stepped up big time, scoring 32 points for the Twins. The freshman also grabbed 10 rebounds.
With only five players seeing playing time, Donavan Williams added 20 points, Rayquan Bryant 19, Jordan Wright 14 and Bright Afful eight.
On Sunday, again just five players entered the box score against North Country and this time Bryant led the team with 28 points and 12 rebounds.
Williams scored 20 points once again, Nixon had 18 points and 12 boards and Wright scored 10 points.
C-GCC (10-12) plays at Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
