Exhibitions

• Keepers of the Flame: Parrish, Wyeth, Rockwell and the Narrative Tradition

Through October 28, 2018 — Discover the creative lineage for American illustrators Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, and their teachers, tracing back to roots in European narrative painting.

• A Day in The Life: Norman Rockwell’s Stockbridge Studio

Through October 2018 — Explore Norman Rockwell’s original Stockbridge studio, reinstalled to look as it did in 1960, when the artist was working on his iconic Golden Rule painting.

• Norman Rockwell and the Boy Scouts of America

Look back at Norman Rockwell’s 64-year relationship with this venerable organization—the longest of his professional career.

• Norman Rockwell’s 323 “Saturday Evening Post” Covers

Revisit all 323 Saturday Evening Post covers created by Norman Rockwell, who considered the magazine to be the “greatest show window in America.”

• Programs for Children and Families

ArtZone — Explore your “inner Rockwell” by creating your own works of art in the Museum’s creativity center. Free with Museum admission, Museum members free.

Gallery Talks — Enjoy daily gallery talks on the art of Norman Rockwell starting at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Special 15-minute gallery tours of Keepers of the Flame are held daily at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Programs for Adults — Historic Property Walks, 2 p.m. — Enjoy a guided stroll on the Museum’s bucolic 36-acre site and learn about the historic buildings on its property, including Linwood House, an 1859 Berkshire Cottage. Free for Museum members, or included with regular Museum admission.

• Friday, September 7

Programs for Adults — Meet Rockwell’s Models, 3 p.m. — Find out what it was like to pose for America’s favorite illustrator, from Rockwell’s own models, who will share their personal experiences. Free for Museum members, or included with regular Museum admission.

• Saturday, September 8

Programs for Adults — Celebrating the Four Freedoms, 1 to 4 p.m. — Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Norman Rockwell’s Four Freedoms paintings during this day of festive programming. Highlights include special talks, tours, World War II era music, a performance by Albany Berkshire Ballet, and a showing of the 1945 short documentary The Cummington Story. Free for Museum members, or included with regular Museum admission.

Programs for Adults — In Plein Air: On-Site Painting Program, 12 to 4 p.m. — Join us on our grounds for an inspiring plein air painting demonstration and workshop with artist/illustrator Dan Howe. Norman Rockwell Museum is open daily, except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Hours: November-April: 10-4 Monday through Friday, and 10-5 weekends; May-October: 10-5 every day. General public admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $17 for military veterans (with valid ID), $10 for college students, and free for children 18 and under.
