David V. Carl of Mellenville passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born April 8, 1956 in Great Barrington, MA., he was the son of the late Harry and Maria Jeanette Cantele Carl.
David was a lifetime member of the Philmont Rod and Gun Club, a member of the Mellenville Fire Company, Assistant District Administrator of District 15 Little League, a Yankee fan, and an avid hunter. As a local business owner of Montague Oil Co., he was known as the big guy with a big heart.
He is survived by his wife Leslie (nee Coughlin), his children; Kelly (Matthew) Nolan of Stow, MA, and Ryan (Christen Lill) of Mellenville, his grandchildren; Parker and Elliot Nolan, Jackson Carl, and Mackenzie Vigue, his sister Deborah (Brian) Neal of Catskill, niece Caitlin Neal, and nephew Scott Neal.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5th at 9:30 am at Saint James Church, Chatham, NY.
